Filings

Filings

Learn how to use the Filings widget to browse and read SEC filings in real time, filtered by symbol and date.

Command Terminal
CF

Type CF in the command terminal to open the Filings widget. To open filings for a specific stock, type the symbol followed by CF — for example, AAPL CF.

Overview

The Filings widget gives you direct access to SEC filings — 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and more — streamed in real time. On Pro plans, new filings appear the moment they're published via a live WebSocket connection, so you're always seeing the latest disclosures.

On the Free plan, filings are available with a delay.

Opening the Filings Widget

Press the backtick key (`) to focus the command terminal:

  • Type CF and hit Enter to open a general filings feed
  • Type AAPL CF and hit Enter to open filings filtered to Apple

You can open multiple Filings widgets — for example, one for a stock you're researching and another for the broader market.

Filtering by Symbol

At the top of the widget, there's a symbol input field. Type a ticker and press Enter to filter the feed to only show filings from that company.

To clear the filter and return to all filings, click the × next to the symbol.

When a symbol filter is active, real-time updates are also filtered — you'll only see incoming filings that match your selected ticker.

Date Range Filters

You can narrow results by date:

  • From — only show filings filed on or after this date
  • To — only show filings filed on or before this date

This is useful when you're researching a company's history — for example, pulling all filings from the past quarter or looking at a specific earnings period.

Filing Details

The filings feed displays a list of entries with:

FieldDescription
TickerThe stock symbol associated with the filing
CompanyThe company name
FormThe filing type (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.)
DescriptionA short summary of the filing
FiledDate and time the filing was submitted

Reading Filings

Click on any filing to open and read the full document directly inside the widget. You don't need to leave the platform or navigate to the SEC website.

When viewing a filing, use the search bar to find specific terms within the document. The widget highlights all matches and lets you navigate between them — useful for quickly locating key information in lengthy filings like 10-Ks.

Each filing also includes a link to the original document on the SEC website if you need to access it outside the platform.

To go back to the filings list, click the back arrow at the top. Your scroll position in the feed is preserved.

Real-Time Updates

On Pro plans, the Filings widget connects to a live WebSocket feed. New SEC filings appear at the top of the list automatically as they're published. Newly arrived filings are visually highlighted so you can spot them immediately.

You can pause the real-time feed if you want to stop incoming updates while you're reading — click the pause button, and resume when you're ready.

Infinite Scroll

The filings feed loads results in pages. As you scroll down, older filings load automatically — no need to click "load more."

Common Filing Types

FormWhat It Is
10-KAnnual report — comprehensive overview of the company's financial performance
10-QQuarterly report — unaudited financial statements filed three times a year
8-KCurrent report — material events like acquisitions, leadership changes, or earnings
S-1Registration statement — filed before an IPO
DEF 14AProxy statement — executive compensation, board elections, shareholder votes
4Insider transaction — stock purchases or sales by company insiders

Tips

  • Filter by ticker when doing due diligence. Pull up all filings for a company to review their financial history, insider transactions, and material events.
  • Use date ranges for earnings research. Narrow to specific quarters to compare 10-Q filings side by side.
  • Watch for 8-K filings. These often contain market-moving news — leadership changes, acquisitions, or preliminary earnings results.
  • Search within filings. Long documents like 10-Ks can be hundreds of pages. Use the in-document search to jump straight to what you're looking for.
